A friend of mine commented that I hadn’t posted much this month and the reason is that I have been out of town attending training seminars. The first was in Sioux City, Iowa with Anita Shackelford and Joan Knight, which was very educational and a lot of fun. The second was MQX West in Portland, OR where I took 10 classes, also very educational. My brain is very full.
One of the things I learned in Portland was how to do the Page Turner technique, named after Page Johnson, a very accomplished quilter. I decided to use the technique on Patty Cole’s Bear Paw quilt (with her permission). I chose the quilting design Victorian from Designs by Vickie along with wool batting and Glide Military Gold thread. I think it turned out beautifully.
So, Sally’s sister bought the makings for this quilt but then gave it to Sally. Sally finished it up and brought to me for quilting. I chose Anne Bright’s Florence for the quilting and here it is. Great job Sally, it turned out beautifully!
My sister Diana, made this quilt as a gift for one of her coworkers. I think Diana likes the color Blue. Diana chose Arc Doodles for the quilting. Great job Di, what a fun, modern quilt!
My friend Patty Cole made this quilt from a Roxanne Carter pattern. I just love leaves. She chose Anne Bright’s Falling Leaves for the quilting and we used PermaCore Honey thread. Great job Patty!
You may remember from previous posts that Jane is making quilts for her family and for her in-laws for Christmas. She has brought many quilts in for quilting to achieve this goal. Well, the end is in sight, Jane brought in her last two Christmas quilts and a baby quilt to be quilted. The first Christmas quilted was quilted using Anne Bright’s Bubbles, the second Christmas quilt was quilted using Hillbrook Studio’s Simply Roses Panto and lastly the baby quilt was quilted using Anne Bright’s Skyline. Great job Jane! You are ready for Christmas!
This awesome quilt was designed and made by our own Roxanne Carter! The pattern is Freeze Frame and she sewed it with all these great winter-themed fabrics. So, of course we had to quilt it with Kim Diamond’s Snowflake Pano using Glide thread for a little extra sparkle. Beautiful quilt Roxanne!
This quilt was made by Laurie in all these fun, bright colors. Laurie chose Anita Shackelford’s Modern Dewdrops Uneven for the quilting. Great job Laurie, what a fun quilt!
